Chess

Chess, the game of cerebral power, is played across the whole world. Chess was invented in India in the early Antiquity and soon spread across the world through the Silk Route. Natively known as Chaturanga, it spread to Persia, China, and Europe where it was reinvented as Shatranj, Majong, and Chess respectively. The two pillars of chess are strategy and anticipation. These mental disciplines further branch into other complex mental procedures that require a lot of information processing. Chess utilizes mental faculties such as calculation, focus, memory, anticipation, and logic. It has been proven scientifically that chess improves one's focusing power, sitting capacity, logic and learning power. Especially for children, chess can do wonders as their brains are still in their formative stages. Chess has been proven to be a strong catalyst in the formation of neural connections in children.
